PALM BEACH, FL — On Tuesday afternoon, golf course manager Donald Trump was overwhelmed by an encroaching lava flow originating from a previously dormant volcanic site beneath his home on the Mar-a-Lago golf course.
Mr. Trump, a former president of the United States, was unable to evade the molten rock. As he stumbled in an attempt to reach higher ground, the lava overtook him. The 1500-degree stream engulfed his feet and then his legs, rendering him helpless as he became further submerged.
The intense heat and flowing rock had enveloped Trump’s entire body by the time emergency responders arrived at the scene. Using a construction crane, they removed him from the flow.
The former president was airlifted to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, where he is receiving treatment for extensive burns to his skin, organs, and bones. He is expected to make a full recovery.
